Hello everyone,
Im an Indonesian citizen, I have been in the UK for 4 years. Started at 2016-2019 as an international student on tier 4. After graduated, I had the opportunity to swtich my visa and start an internship under t5 GAE starting March 31st 2020 until March 31st 2021 with a promise to give me tier 2(5 years) after my internship finish.
I had a terrible experience, my contract and actual day to day job work was not the same. As the result, the company tried to find mistakes and terminate my employment today (16/7/2020). Of course i know i will expect curtailment of my visa.
So, I havent got email from home office but how long is the grace period for t5 gae curtailment? Is it possible to switch visa in the UK?
We are same sex couple, I have met my boyfriend (Polish living in uk for 13 years) around 16 months ago. We decided to moving in together on May 2020, few months ago. We have contract for our new flat and intend to live long term together (because my boss promised me 5 years visa after this one ended, but it didnt happened) we have a good plan for our future and now its ruined because I got terminated.
I was thinking if it is possible to swap to spouse visa or unmarried partner visa? The only requirement that we cannot fulfil is the living together for 2 years. But, since I am from Indonesia and indonesia law does not protect same sex couple We will be facing difficulties such as discrimination and not able to show love and affection in public places. The official government also stated that the idea of homosexuality is not acceptable in Indonesia. I am afraid that if I go home, our relationship will not last. So i was thinking if i can apply for Spouse visa/unmarried same sex partner visa under Article 8 Human rights /exceptional circumstances?
I have spoken to lawyear, he said he is confident that I can apply for visa based on Private Life supported by my boyfriend/partner as a sponsor. Because it is not possible for me or partner to live in Indonesia as a same sex couple. Do you think this is possible? Or they just want to ripped £970 from me.
I would also welcome any suggestion to help me stay in country and have a relationship with my boyfriend. We just started our live together as a couple, and we are kind of down with the situation right now.
Thank you for your help!
