Test of Patience - Reprint Request

Post by nshar1 » Wed May 23, 2007 4:52 pm

It seems that HO is more of a patience testing center than anything else.

First of all these people lost my documents.
Then as per their policy I had to wait for 12 weeks before they issue a reprint of the decision letter.
At the completion of 12 weeks I promptly requested for a reprint. I received an email from them stating that as there are a high number of reprint requests it may take upto 6 weeks to issue a reprint. More than one month has already passed after the reprint request.

My concerns are:
- Why are there so many cases of reprint requests? Don't they realize that they are screwing up with people's important documents?Don't they learn from their mistakes??
-Why is there no accountability on these people?
-More than one month has passed when I had requested for a reprint. I see no signs of getting my reprint request fulfilled. As there is no accountability on these people, they may very well cross their timeframe of 6 weeks. My request for reprint has already taken more time than what it took for my HSMP application.
-Is UK as a whole is as bad as this govt department?

I feel now that I did a mistake applying for HSMP. I had no idea that I would be dealing with such a bunch of unprofessionals.

Senior Members - Any advice on what I need to do to get a reprint of my HSMP letter?

Thanks !!

Hi nshar1,

Sorry, I was very busy at office these days and I could not update you about my husband's re-print request. As you know, he has forwarded his request to the HSMP team on 8th May (his 12 weeks got over on 6th May). He has emailed the request, followed by request by fax and then by follow-up calls. Before this also, he had been calling them almost once in every 10-15 days.

Ultimately his re-print was ready on 15th May (he was informed about this by his caseworker that the re-print is ready for collection, through email) and got it collected by MBE couriers (as suggested by you) on 16th May. We received the parcel on 18th May, here in India.

Note - Out here the twist is that they won't modify the date of issue in the decision letter (they just mark the same letter as 'duplicate', with the original issue date). As per normal rule of HSMP, one has to apply for EC within 6 months from the date of issue of the decsion letter. So, be careful. Don't loose time. Follow up with them again and again.
Regards,
Debjani.
