Hi all,
I may be completely wrong on this one, but I just thought to give this a shot.
I came in the UK on a student visa and after completing my degree, went on to then SEGS, and since then I am on a work permit.
One of my friend said that there is a provision for ILR where your student visa and SEGS years can count along with the work permit years.
The calculation he said is as follows.
(Student visa years/2 + SEGS years/2 + Work Permit years + HSMP years) should be equal to 5 years for ILR.
The logic his solicitor used was that if you are on student visa or SEGS/IGS for 10 years you get the ILR as compared to 5 years for work permit or hsmp.
Is that true? I might be able to jump the queue if this is possible.
Thanks.
Raj.
