Is there a format to Job offer letter?

I am likely to get a job offer letter from an employer in UK. However, he wants to know whether there is any specific format in which he needs to give an offer letter for my HSMP visa to be processed?

Even if there is no specific format requirement, I would really appreciate if someone can share his / her offer letter format.

just see to it that they mention your name, the position , salary, date of join(probable) in their offer letter. Tell them about these points and it should serve the purpose.
