Do they perform a credit check for ILR?

I will soon be applying via SET M for ILR on marriage grounds.

I have a joint bank account with my british born husband but he has a very poor credit history , due to some defaults.

He has since then made arrangements to pay the debtor and is doing so on a monthly basis, however since the debt is being paid slowly but surely in small increments, his credit file is NOT being updated to state these regular payment are being made as its a collection agency collecting the payments for the creditor. I guess its only when the debt is settled it will update his credit file as settled.

Will his adverse credit history affect me for my ILR as I am financially tied to him via our joint bank account ,

His credit file does mention my name as we have joint financial interest via our bank account. so logically I guess he will be shown on mine .

I know they do check credit file for naturilisation, but for ILR ?!

1. Having a poor or good credit file does not make any difference to your ILR application.
2. However, if it has resulted in CCJ under u name then it will effect.
3. If CCJ has been issued under u husband's name then it wud not effect you but if joint CCJ then yes.

Thank god, there is no CCJ - as my hubby has a payment arrangement with the collection agency to get this debt cleared, which he is actively doing by ensuring regular monthly payments.
