Thoughts on Cardiff PEO?

Post by kenfrapin » Sat Apr 30, 2011 6:23 pm

Hi All,

Many posts on here talk of 2 PEO offices - Croydon and Solihull. While we can go to either, the one at Cardiff is easy access to us and wanted to know from others about their experience at the Cardiff PEO?

Our case is almost straightforward. I have 185 days outside UK over 5 years all of which is on paid leave and also includes 40days on 2 business trips which my previous employer is more than happy to verify. Other than that nothing to worry about.

Croydon does not have great feedback so wanted to ask about the Cardiff PEO - any thoughts?

Thanks
KP

Even this (185 days) should be no reason to worry about.

Anyhow, do note that vignette endorsement is not done onsite at Cardiff PEO. So, even if the decision (approval) is communicated to you in writing on the day of the appointment, your passport(s) will be retained and posted to you a couple of days later.

One more question I did have for you - for proofs such as
1. Employment reference letter
2. Previous employment letters, if any
3. Latest bills etc

For all of the above, there is no specific mention that these must not be older than 1 month. I am sorting all my papers now but applying 2nd week of June so few letters will be over a month old. Unlike Tier 1, there is no such rule specified on Set O guidance - so is it OK if above letters are more than a month old?

Thanks

This fact regarding Cardiff PEO is published on this UKBA webpage.

As for the list of documents you mention, why do you think you need those? Nevertheless, there is no such requirement for settlement application.

Thanks for that.
As for why I need those docs, they are part of standard proof I need to submit -
1. Employment reference letter stating my salary and my my job is permanent from current employer - required to show economically active
2. Previous employer letter to highlight absences plus i was working for them from X to X as I was on a mix of WP and Tier 1
3. Utility bill, council tax etc for my current address for proof of residence and I own/rent a flat to live in. Plus bank statement to show I have savings and wont go on the dole after getting my ILR

Cheers
