Tier 2 and ILR

Post by silverchloride » Fri Dec 02, 2011 4:55 pm

Hi there,

I got a Tier 2 visa in Oct 2011 and was wondering what the latest rules are with regards to ILR? I understand the UKBA were undertaking a consultation and the results haven't been annouced yet but is there any sort of general ideas floating around as to what the future of ILR would be for folks who got their Tier 2s in 2011.

P.S. Thanks loads to everyone for helping me out through the absolutely nerve wreckning times when I was applying for a visa!

Hi Mate I was wondering the same thing. As far as I'm aware IF the new rules are implemented everyone who got TIER2 after April 2011 will lose the ILR. But this is still in consultation. There is a thread somewhere in this forum about this. :D However we can't be so sure about anything until the rules are announced. Lets hope for the best

if you are going for 5 year ILR.... then maybe your interpretation is correct...

if you are going for ILR based on 10 years.... MAC noted this ILR route in their report, but concluded that govt. shouldnt worry about it, since the number of apps via this route will be low...

but that's just their recommendation. we all need to wait until laws are published
