Tier 2 change of employment - travelling outside UK

Hi All,

Hoping someone can guide on this -

I recently had my Tier 2 Change of Employment application approved. I am currently on notice period with my current employer and due to start with my new employer in a few weeks (as per the CoS start date).

Can I travel outside the UK for a short holiday during this period (i.e. before starting my new job) or can this create problems at the airport? I have received my BRP but obviously this is for the new employment now.

I don't think there will be a problem once you have BRP and passport as long as your employer does not have any issue.
Make sure you leave your current employer if your start date in BRP already started.

You can wait for expert's reply if you want.

BRP valid from date is same as approval date but that is not the same as the start date on the CoS.

Just to add I will only leave my current employer prior to my start date with the new employer (which is after I return from my holiday).

e.g.

application approved : 18 Jun
visa received : 23 Jun
Holiday : 10 July - 16 July
Last date with current employer : 3 Aug
start date with new employer (same as the date on Cos) : 4 Aug

Hi Manci - as per the rules, am I allowed to travel for this holiday?
