Tier 1 (G) - continual renewal?

Post by jork » Wed Feb 12, 2014 9:59 am

I have a Tier 1 (G) visa - but due to many absences I don't think I'll be eligible for ILR.
(less absences than 180 days per year, but my employer won't give me a letter)

As such, is it possible to just keep renewing the visa even though I don't qualify for ILR. Or would this be frowned upon.

Also, could the rules change and prohibit renewals? Or would that be prohibited by the courts (given one is already in the category).

Thanks!!

If the absences are less than 180 days then you can give it a try. Try asking for a letter from your employer. If you can't get one then write a cover letter yourself and explain everything in it.

It's worth a try.

Good Luck!

In total or per year?
If I fail at ILR, I guess I could still renew my Tier 1??

(I'm still about 18 months of being Tier 1 for 5 years, but my travel days are already too high as I'm away most weekends).
