tier 4 to dependant visa

This is a query regarding applying for dependant visa.Currently I am with student visa which is due to expire on 22nd september, and my boyfriend is waiting for decree absolute which he will be getting in first week of september. However we are getting married as per our religion in 2nd week of september. But if we have to register our marriage we have to give prior notice for which as we are waiting for absolute and current situation its not allowing us to give notice at council. And i am worried about travelling back to home country as in India the cases are increasing and I have no direct flights as well. Can i approach home office asking for extension or is there any legal way of for me to stay till I apply for dependant visa. If this was not the situation we would have travelled back and applied for dependant visa from India without any hassle . Advice on what best can be done on this issue is much appreciated. TIA!!

No. There is provision for people whose leave expires by 31 August to apply for "exceptional assurance" to stay longer, if they can demonstrate how and why it is not possible for them to leave. It is possible this concession might be extended, but no-one knows at the moment. See
