Tier 2 dependent right to work

Post by Nikolay » Wed Oct 27, 2010 9:10 am

Hi,

Both me and my partner are currently holdng Post Study Work visas due to expire in June 2011. Our employers are fairly confident that they will be able to sponsor us undert Tier 2, although in light of the immigration cap, there are some concerns. We would like to maximise our chances in case things don't work they way it is expected by one of us sponsoring another. The question is if I am being dependent of my partner or other way do I have a right to work? If yes then is it for any employer?

Both me an my partner lived together for 1 and a half year while studying and looking for work, however as we got jobs in different part of the country, we had to move away from each other, where I am driving every weekend to visit her. For past 6-8 month that address been my primary address for work purpuses and bank statements. Question is: Can we claim living together for 2 years as required if it has break in between, due to work locations.

Regards

Nikolay
