Tier 2 employer change without coming to UK

Hi all,

I am currently in India and I am in a peculiar situation, I have recieved my Tier-2 visa in November and my start date in COS is mentioned as 10-DEC, but I was not able to take up this oppurtunity until February as I had issues on the personal front. I am planning to travel to UK in March.
Options I believe that I have are as below.
1. Contact current employer and ask for an updated offer letter to be presented at the port of entry.
2. Get a COS from a new employer and apply for new visa here in India. -- In this case does the cooling off period apply???

Please someone suggest what is the best way to handle this situation.

I am assuming you have the visa.
As long as your employer has not informed UKVI that you have failed to start, leading to the COS being withdrawn then everything should be fine.
Getting a letter from the employer showing that you are still required and confirming the new start date is always a good thing.

I am grateul for your response "Frontier Mole", you clarified my first doubt, As assumed by you I do have a Valid Visa until 2017.
I would like to know the scenario where I decide to go ahead with a COS from another employer, does the cooling off period apply here?? -- This is just in case if my current employer does not agree to extend my timeline for coming to UK.

The cooling off period would only apply if you enter the UK and were to return home to apply for a new COS.
As you have not entered the UK using the visa then you are free to change employer. Obviously you will need another restricted COS.
