Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) extension requirements- investment

I am currently on Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) visa which I obtained as partnership with another person who applied for the same visa together with me.Thus the initial investment for the business is £50 000. Now my business partner is in another visa. He would like to be in this business without investing any money because his sole intention for joining the business was to obtain the visa and now he no longer requires it.
So I just wanted to know if my business partner continues to act as a shareholder, will he had to invest his money in the company? What if he withdraws and I become the sole director of the company? will I have to invest the whole amount (£50 000)in order to extend the visa?

FYI I am only 1 year away from my extension.

He can be the shareholder as long as your own total investment is £50K or more and keep in mind at the time of extension you have to show/declare [in your cover letter] that you are sole director of the company [providing amended CAR] and all liabilities will be yours.
