tier 1 extension - please help

tier 1 extension - please help

I have a Tier 1 VISA valid untill 15th november 2011. I was working in spain from the last 3 years. My contract is ending on 31st august 2011. So I have only 2 and half months left for extension. Can I enter to UK on the first of september 2011 and apply for extension ? Can I claim points for the money which I was earning from the last 12 months in SPAIN ? Any one who has experience please help me. Thank you

Yes, you will be able to extend - just remember though that you cannot claim points for UK experience. And obviously there's no uplift on your overseas earnings (Spain doesn't have an uplift factor anyway).

But I have a small question. I need to show 800 pounds in my bank account for 90days continously when I am inside UK. But as my contract is finishing in SPAIN only untill the end of august 2011. So if I enter UK on 1st of sptember 2011 and open a bank account in UK, the time is not sufficient. What is the best soltuion for this problem ? any one please help me. Is it possible to open a bank accout in UK by staying outside. I think they will definitely ask for a residential proof.

Do you maybe have a bank account in your home country? Or you can also use a Spanish bank account - just make sure that you compensate for exchange rate fluctuations and that you can actually get the correct bank statements.

You should look at some banks websites, as I know there's an HSBC Passport account, but I don't know the rules around this.

i think they will.. you just need to provide proof that the moeny in bank is on your name and all

They will consider any currency account.
Maintenance fund Statement/letter can not be more than 30 days old.
You just don't use uplift ratio (be it Spain/home-country).
AND
you forgo your UK experience points.
