Tier-1 extension: Points for Qualification query?

Post by rags1710 » Wed Aug 03, 2011 3:40 pm

Hi All,

Wierd case.
Date of 1st application: 26/05/2008.
Result: Rejected, even the review.
Reason: Maintenance funds bank statements were more than 2 weeks old at the time of application.

6th July 2009: I get a mail from the admin review that because of some changes in circumstances/policy their decision has been overturned and I was being granted a visa. I went with this mail printout and my passport and my visa was stamped.

Now, I've my extension next year and as per the current rules : "An applicant will be awarded no points
for a Bachelor’s degree if:
(a) his last grant of entry clearance was
as a Tier 1 (General) Migrant under the
rules in place between 31 March 2009
and 5 April 2010, "

However I was granted 30 points for my qualification during my 1st application.. will I be granted 30 during extension as well ?

Regards,
Raghu.

you should get points for bachelors degree as you did not make a fresh application in 2009.
Same application in 2008 was approved late and as you have already received points for bachelors degree so 2009 rules were not applicable in your case.

Your visa was issued based on the rules in place as at 26/05/2008, so that would apply in your extension application too.
