Tier 1 Extension Queries

Hi Eyeryone

I got my visa on Dec-2010 and have not been able to travel to the UK till now.

However now i am thinking of taking up a job in the UK starting 15th January. I am not sure what points will i be able to score on various parameters. It would be great if someone can clarify the things here.

Scoring of points:

AGE
***
I got 20 points for my age when i applied the first time. Will this stay 20 even when i apply for renewal (thie reason I ask this is because now i fall in the 10 points age range and still have not entered the UK)

Qualification
*********
I get 30 points here.

Earnings
******
As per the job offer that that I have, I will be able to make 25 points here (40k-50k)

UK Experience
***********
Should be getting 5 points here for the above earnings. (The question here is that - Is there anyother criteria on these points like being in the UK for an year of something. )

Can someone please guide me to the two questions above (Highlighted in bold)



Also another small query - can someone provide a list of banks that are easy to work with in terms of getting the statements stamped and signed at branch etc...

Hi,

Except for the score based earnings, the remaining points will not change.
i.e. if you have scored 20 for age, it will remain same during your extension.

So the main criteria will be based on the earnings. If you already have an offer, i suggest u travel immediately as you have only 12 months left.

If you do not have an offer then give a good thought. Keep alteast two months aside for job search. Based on that and also considering you will have to go for extension 4 weeks early, you will have 7 months(assuming u will get a job in 2months) where ur earnings should be good enough to earn you the required points.
