Tier 2 + family visa, 5y ILR possible?

Post by Zuppa » Tue Apr 05, 2022 10:58 pm

Hello,

My wife has started working in October 2018 with a Tier2 visa, and she is going to end her employment at the end of April 2022, five months short of her 5years.

Both me and our daughter are British citizens.

In order to allow my wife to stay in the country, we were thinking to apply for a Family visa for her.

Would these 5 months on a different visa set her on the 10y ILR path?
Is there any way that we could get her to apply for ILR in September 2022 other than finding a new sponsor for a skilled worker visa?

Thank you in advance

There is no other way. If she switches, she needs to start the 5 years from scratch under the family route or complete 10 years of lawful stay in total under any visa to apply via the long residence
