Tier 1(Gen)/ ILR/ period covered for 5 year calculation

Post by ShilpaK » Mon Jan 26, 2015 2:33 pm

Entered UK on 1st May 2010 for just 10 days on Tier 1 (General) visa and left. Was employed in India during that period. Came here to just check where to stay, kids school, jobs etc. Then entered UK on 1st Sept 2010. So will the 5 year period for ILR start from 1 May 2010 or 1 Sept 2010?
I understand 180 days absence is allowed as per the new rules. So my absence from the country from May'10 - Sept'10 in my first year should be covered and my visa period should start from 1 May'10 as against 1 Sept'10 when I actually started living here.
