Tier (1) general and dependent

Post by KiranKodati » Sat Apr 18, 2009 4:00 pm

Hi, I am new to this board.
I am going to apply for UK visa under Tier (1) general by this month end.

I have few questions running in my mind about applying dependents visa along with main application

I would like to know which way is good to apply for depend visa:
1) Apply along with main applicant?
2) Apply dependent visa after main applicant visa is approved.

In first case, if the main applicant visa got rejected, then we loose all visa fee for main applicant as well as for dependent applicants right?

Please suggest me which is better.

Thank you
Kiran

Option 1 is the best option. Do remember HO charge same if you apply with main applicant(+£50 I think). But for dependent separately they charge full application fee.

But, I just read this FAQ from http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/en/howtoapply ... nt#9820759

What fee will my dependants pay?

They will pay the same fee as you. This will be either at the Highly Skilled Migrant Programme rate or Tier 1 (General) Migrant rate depending on the scheme under which you entered the United Kingdom.

I respect your seniority in this board, but could you please clarify this. Based on your answer I need to decide whether to apply along with my application or separatly.

Thank you.

This depends on where you are applying from. If you apply from within UK then all you pay is the main applicant's fee+ 50 each for the dependents. If you apply from outside UK you have to pay separate fee for all the applicants.

Yes, if you are really unsure about the fate of main applicant's apllication. If the documents are all ok then there is no point in making it a two stage process.
