Tier 1 General closing in April 2011

Hi Guys,

I need some help. I have done a lot of search but not really found the info. As most know that Tier 1 General is closing on 5 April 2011.

I am currently on Tier 1 General and my visa expires in August 2011 (I got this visa in 2008). Now will this change taking effect from April affect me as well, or is this just for fresh applications. I will have to apply for extension.
Secondly how early can I apply for extension?
Will really apreciate some help on this.
