Tier-2 (General) dependent visa.

Post by neurocyber » Sun Mar 29, 2015 11:35 pm

Hi everyone,

I got married in Dec, 2014 and applied for Tier 2 (General) visa in Feb, 2015. I got visa approval in Feb,2015. Now i am in the U.K. and living in a shared accommodation (double room but single occupancy) owned by a private landlord.

1. Do i need to attach tenancy agreement with her application ?
2. My current tenancy agreement is sufficient enough for her to apply for Tier 2 (General) dependent visa ?
3. Do i need to rent an independent studio in order to apply for her visa ?

I want to rent a studio soon after her arrival in the U.K. Will it work ?

Thank you for your help.

there are no accommodation requirements for PBS dependants, tenancy agreement is not needed for your wife's visa application.

Thank you manci for your reply. In order to clarify this point, i called my solicitor last week. He suggested me to ask the landlord for a confirmation letter, which would state that I live in this property, and that the property is big enough to accommodate another tenant etc. He also suggested me to add photos of the property and my own room.

I was wondering, why people attach tenancy agreement for Tier2 (General) dependent visa application ? Is their any specific reason ?

Thank you for your help.

it is because they are not familiar with the rules and this includes your solicitor

Thank you for your help.

Thanks again manci. Have you ever viewed a refusal based upon tenency agreement/accommodation?

My employer is A-rated and agreed to give me a sponsorship letter (including maintenance and accomodation) for my wife. I beleive this letter alongwith my COS (Earnings 27.5K p.a.) will fulfil the requirements for her visa application. I will also attach all possible proofs of our relationship (marriage) and her TB test certificate. Is that OK ?

Thank you for your help. :)

Hello Manci and moonlight
You both are really helpful , every where ....
My question is that if we are applying for more than one dependent ( Under Tier 2 General Visa Category) like wife and daughter then tenancy agreement or NOC from landlord is mandatory ? your reply will be really helpful for me and other viewers as well.

Thanks in Advance
