Tier 2 General - Extension of Dependant Visa

Dear All,

My dependants Tier 2 visa expires in May'2015 and I am preparing to apply for extension (i recently shifted job and i am under new sponsor), my dependants have been living with me in UK since 2012 my query - Is 3 month maintenance of funds still applicable or should i request my employer for a letter (stating employer is happy for funds maintenance).

Please advise as apt.
