Tier 1 (General) first time extension confusions

Post by theimmigrant » Tue May 17, 2011 12:33 am

Hi,

I am just thinking of getting raedy to prepare myself for this another BIG task. I got a lot of help during my initial tier-1 visa from this site. I really am thankfull to every one for this. I am asking for further more now.

I am using application form at
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... l-form.pdf

I wll apply for my first extension june 2012 as my current one will expire in sept 2012.

I initially applied in feb 2009 and i needed 75 points +10+ 10 to get the visa so i assume that rules wll stay the same for me for extension as well.
Is that right?

While i was reading the app form, i came across this phrase

"J7. Please confirm points being claimed for total earnings

Applications for leave to remain where the applicant has, or has had, leave as a Highly Skilled Migrant, as a Writer, Composer or Artist, Self-employed Lawyer, or as a Tier 1 (General) Migrant under the Rules in place before 6 April 2010, and has not been granted leave in any categories other than these since 6 April 2010
£40,000+ 45 points £23,000 - £25,9 ........."

Does the above sentence referring to the points claimed when i applied earlier on? Just before this line, the section j6 is askign us to calculate the points from calculator on site and write it there. That calculator must be working on new rules and points will be different. how is that going to work. I am totally confused and need help badly in this.

I have seen this same phase in age section as well. Where shud i have to tick ? the box which shows those points which i claimed eaarlier or wat?

also, i dont have to give ielts again if im not wrong?

do i have to get signed and stamped bank statements or normal statements wud work fine?

In education section of the form , my bachelors degree (which isnt from UK but from asia) is no more on PBS calculator but it was there when i applied . So, Which checkbox to check? i dont need a NARIC thing but how do i explain it on the form? shud i just check "Qualification recognised on the points based calculator" option? Please help

You help is greately appreciated

Regards

check the points based calculator ... that will ask you for the date of your intial application and it will show relevant salary bands valid on that period

yes..Earlier

Sorry ..i dont know the answer for this ..

If you receive your bankstatements on normal post on bank stationary then no need for bank stamp.

The reason you may not be getting answer is because you are asking it too early (more than a year in hand). applicaiton form, PBS everything will change.

To summarise, the rule for ponts is exactly the same as if you are applying on that date (your first application) and the same rules as of that day is exiting (this is irrespective of whatever the form may say- always true).

About your qualification, it is tricky. You qualification is no longer on PBS (it is not that usual) and I guess you need to get NARIC cetification. There is a clause in the form that if you have already proved your qualification there is no need to send it again but in reality the case worker always asks for degree certificate and recalculate the point.

However, you are one year away from it.. There would be n number of changes in it by that time.
