Tier 2 General Migrant approved - no BRP card?

Post by vj_tier2_migrant » Thu Jun 11, 2015 1:12 pm

Hello All,

I applied for a Tier 2 General (Main applicant) visa on 27th May @ Bangalore VFS.
My visa was processed on June 9th and I received the documents and passport back on June 10th.
I noticed from my visa endorsement that they've provided me a full term (5 years valid) visa with my restriced CoS number printed on it.

I'm a bit surprised though I was expecting a 30 days valid visa with a decision letter explaining when and where to collect my BRP card upon arrival in the UK. My Immigration solicitor confirmed that I do not need to collect my BRP card as they've provided all the info on my visa itself.

Just wanted to know if anyone else has also experienced the same for their applications that they've made recently.

Thanks in advance!
vj

OK, I now found out the reason why I haven't received a 30 days visa.
I started my application sometime in March, hence it was still considered as an old style application and do not have the section called "BRP Collection Location" whereas for all applications created on/after 6 April 2015, I believe there is an additional tab for BRP where we need to fill in the details. I created new applications for my dependents today and noticed that they do have this section.
