Tier 1 General Migrant VISA - extension

Post by Allis » Thu Aug 04, 2011 10:37 pm

Hi,

I am on tier 1 general migrant VISA valid from May 2009 till May 2012. I am planning for my first extension in 2012. I am not sure if I will be able to secure the requisite 95 points.

Please suggest

My details - If I apply on 24th March 2012. As my DoB is 23 March 1981.
Age 31. Please suggest how many points will I get if I enter my age as 31 - 5 or 10 as the online calculator and t1 general guidance guidance rules are showing different points?
Masters in international business - education
Salary as on 18th March 2012 will be approx £28000 in the last 12 months.
Please suggest if I can claim 5 points for my Previous UK experience of £25000 for FY 2009-2010.
If I claim 5 points for for my Previous UK experience of £25000 for FY 2009-2010 , will I lose my 35 points under qualifications as I am a masters.

Your help and guidance will be of great use to me.

Thanks and regards,
Sri

Not sure how you calculated your eligibility using point based calculator system.
As per my understanding you can claim points for your age and qualification as per initial application.

You can claim UK experience point as well education point if your earnings fall under UKBA requirements’.

Thanks,

I am in very similar position. WRT age, I am July 83 born, have BE degree and have earnings around £26k.

I initially applied for HSMP in March 2008, HSMP approved in October 2008 (In country application). Tier 1 stamped in March 2009 and valid until March 2012. For Calculating points via Points calculator and using the guidance notes, you'd probably need a degree to work that out !!!

It is very complicated WRT age, Qualification and using the correct table to calculate the earnings.

Can some Mods please please advise.

PS - I have had no response to my Last Post HERE
