Tier-1 General Short of 10 days for ILR

Post by zoheb » Mon May 12, 2014 3:17 pm

Hi All,
I got my First Tier-1 general Visa stamped on 07-04-2011
Then I got the 2nd extension stamped from 05/03/2014 to 05/03/2016
I don't have any out of country gap or nothing as I got my visa stamped initially within UK
Now due to new rules that after 06/04/2015 there is no more Tier-1 general extensions..

Now my question is will I be eligible to go directly for ILR in March 2016 as if I see for 28 days grace period for the first extension counts I will be short of 10 days...will I be eligible for ILR directly or shall I go for an extension before 06/04/2015.

Any help from any one is much appreciated.

Many Thanks
Zoheb

From Thursday, April 7, 2016
Subtracted 28 days

Result: Thursday, March 10, 2016
Therefore, you'll have to extend, to be safe.

A postal application should be ok, however, you'd still be applying early, though it's very unlikely a decision would be made in 5 days.

Hi Amber,

Thank you for the reply..I am very much confused and worried. I will sit and think if I want to take the risk or go for the extension.

But,thank you and bilal for your suggestions. Much appreciated..

So far as you qualify when a decision is made, that should suffice as per: AQ (Pakistan) [2011] EWCA Civ 833.
