Tier 2 General VS Tier 2 ICT

Hi,
I have a few questions related to the Tier 2 general and ICT visas:
1. If I come to the UK on tier 2 General visa, would I be eligible for applying for PR after spending 5 years in UK without leaving UK.
2. If I come to the UK on tier 2 ICT visa, would I be eligible for applying for PR after spending 5 years in UK without leaving UK?
3. I am presently working for an employer at an overseas location who wishes to transfer me to UK. Can the employer file for a tier 2 general visa for me instead of Tier 2 ICT?
Any help related to the above would be much appreciated.
