Tier 2 General Visa Delay

Its been 1 month from application and biometrics submit. but still no decision made, after 1st week i received a email saying its not straightforward and they cant meet the service standards. then no reply for weeks, when i contact visa office they said they doing further inquiries, but still they didn't contact me or employer.

i am applying from outside uk and this is my first time visa application to uk. any idea on what they looking for ? according to ukba most applications are addressed with in 21 days.

Some times it takes longer when they need to perform checks - May I know where did you log your visa application outside the UK?

Ok, delay could be due to various reasons - a few of these -

1. If caseworker feels that the vacancy is not genuine. In this case, they will ask additional details from your employer and you - asking how you recruited and details of candidates applied for the role and why they rejected?

2. If your sponsor is new and this is new tier 2 then they visit your employer for verification of RLMT and your interview schedule, etc. - If this is the case, it may take up to 4 months or so.

3. If you are claiming points for English language with your degree. They perform the additional checks to see if your degree is equivalent to UK degree or NARIC recognised.

4. If this is first visa to UK, they do some internal checks so this will take 2-3 weeks
