Tier 2 ICT (STP) - Job Switch

Hi ,
I am here on ICT (Skilled transfer permit) valid till March 2015. I am being offered job by another employer on contract basis.
I have two questions and request for your kind and valuable inputs :-
a) Can I switch job in case if it is permitted in this visa category (STP) ?
b) The original visa duration was six months. Can I get it extended if I continue to work for current employer without getting into cooling period ?
