Tier 2 ICT & Tier 2 General offered

Hi All,

Apologies if you feel its a repeat, but most of the previous threads I saw are referring to dates in 2011. Therefore I feel that I am obliged to create this new one..

I am being offered a job through an MNC, who are applying through tier 2 ICT - long term.
I am wondering whether its going to be possible to move to tier 2 general, given that there are opportunities available at a later stage ?

You cannot switch into Tier 2 (Gen) from within UK. You will have to return to your home country and apply for an entry clearance again. Since you will be on ICT long term visa, a cool-off period of 12 months will also apply before you can re-apply for general visa.
