UK Tier 2 (Intra company transfer) - Travel URGENT Help

Post by Poorvika » Fri Jan 10, 2014 5:01 am

Hello,

I have a Tier 2 ICT Visa valid from 30/03/13 till 29/03/14 (one year).
I was not able to travel to UK initially on the visa.
But my company wants me to go now (after 6 months of the visa issue) and handle a project.
I wanted to enquire whether i would be able to travel now till the end of the visa validity.

Thanks and Regards,
Poorvika

there is no reason why you shouldn't be allowed to enter the UK but since your visa will expire in less than 3 months you may be questioned at the UK border. Have documentation with you to explain the circumstances (e.g. letter from sponsor).

Note that if you have a T2 ICT Short Term Staff visa this cannot be extended beyond 12 months.

Thanks a lot for you reply!!

I have a few more queries though -

- Should the entry clearance officer be aware that i did not enter the UK at the beginning of my Visa validity?

- And if not entered and not reported about the delay, will I not be able to travel now (i.e. within visa validity dates which is before March 29th 2014) ?

The visa will be activated at the time of your first entry by the BFO (Border Force Officer) stamping it with the date of entry. As there is no arrival date stamp on your visa at present s/he will be aware that this will be your first entry.

check with the airline what their rules are
