WP to Tier-1 - Do we need to inform the employer?

I just switched my WP to Tier-1. Question is, do I need to inform the employer that I have switched my WP to Tier-1?

yes because employers updates UKBA frequently on any change in terms of employment etc. you SHOULD inform them.
