Tier 1 questions

Post by abc111 » Mon Jun 13, 2011 8:49 am

I have two basic Tier 1(G) questions. My initial grant was approved for three years in July 2009 and might leave my current employer soon.

Q1. My salary has dropped a bit but still remains within the same band as was in 2009 -is it going to create any issues when I apply for Extension?

Q2. I have a choice on my current employment either to accept redundancy (just to get some extra money out of employer) or resign -is it going to have any issues when applying for extension (my salary will be continuous though)? Also, can I include redundancy money within earning?

Q3. What documents should I request from my current employer that will be required by HO. My employer does not issue any pay slips but will be able to issue me a letter in addition to P45; should I get a letter now or request at a later date near application date?

Thanks.
P.S Although extension is due in July 2012 but can apply earlier as had already covered 1 year on work permit prior applying for T1.

NO

REDUNDANCY would be a better option

if you are being made redundant then you should get your P60 which should be fine.

Just a couple of bits:

1. For extension (within UK) amount of money needs to be shown for my wife and me is £800+£1600 (total £2400) for the last three continuous months prior application date -is it correct?

2. Can I include redundancy money towards claiming points for salary?

Many thanks.

For point 2, no you cannot include it. Refer to: Scoring points for your previous earnings. For your first question, you can probably also find it there somewhere.

If I could get a replies to the questions anyways that will be great. Also I have gone to the embedded link and it shows under the table for T1(G) a rule that says that no point for earning under 20k despite table gives 5 point for earnings 16 to 17k!

Please take sometimes to draft a quick reply to left question -as this will give me a peace of mind

Is it possible to switch from T1(G) to T2 (work permit)?

Last question for now! Thanks.
