Tier 1 - Redundancy Insurance Policy / Job Seeker allowance

Post by BACK_TO_GB » Fri Mar 12, 2010 10:51 am

Hi,

I am on Tier1 Visa and with the current enviroment am thinking of getting redundandcy / unemployment Insurance... after doing some research and calls with various insurance companies am getting to understand that a key factor on the insurance polices is to be able to register for job seaker allowance -- as this is their proof that you are not employed and looking for work...

so the question is: as a Tier 1 visa holder, can I apply for Job seeker allowance? (contribution based) ?

I browesed the Jobcenter office online and just can not find the right contact... any body know an answer to this or a link on the HO to this ?

Many thanks, lets hope redandancies never happen but that is what insurance is there for!

hi folks,

I have just found this on the HO website...

http://www.ind.homeoffice.gov.uk/while- ... blicfunds/

so does it mean that it is ok to claim Contribution based - Job seeker allowance... as it is not defined as Public Funds... hence a Tier 1 visa holder can register on the Job center office?

just looking for someone to confirm my understanding...

I happen to found this site http://www.betterinsurancequotes.co.in/redundancy-insurance.html they offer you to get a redundancy cover for a lower price. Hope this one helps.
