Tier 1 Rejection - Applying AR but no high hopes

Hi Guys,

My wife tier1 was refused for following two reasons:

Reason 1) Bank statements were not on correct stationary - Though we submitted Dot matrix printed statement from AXIS bank (signed and sealed). In addition we submitted online statement which has bank logo and image everything (but were not signed and not sealed) and additional one page statement on bank letter head stating the available funds and the minimum funds not fallen below 3 LK in last three months of the same account.

Reason 2) Salary statement generated (online salary slips) on A4 paper were not signed and hence not considered - Actually these salary statement were company generated slips but they were not on company letter head as the statement itself has logo address and everything. As additional precaution my wife added a company seal on it but no sign was put on. Hence they rejected it? Why did they assumed that it was not company stationary?
Does it means it the salary statement which is not on company letter head always requried to be signed and sealed? and in this case do you need any additional statement on company letter head from HR stating the 12 month salary in addition to this?

The funny part is in Reason1 as mentioned they have not considered bank transaction statement for validating salary but they have considered the third 1 page document which was on bank letter head to award points for Maintenance funds. The irony is this document talks about the account balance and the available balance from last three months from the same account (i.e. salary account and maintenance fund account is same)

Q How come they can consider and award point in one case and not consider the online statement in conjuction with dot matrix printed signed/sealed statement.

I am surprised and not much hopeful as i have read many post which relates to the same topic.

Please advice ....is it worth a fight for this double standard?

1. Reading INFO: Bank Logo required on statements as per HO will help understand what do an "online account" and "electronic bank statement" mean.

2. Reading para 140(ii) of the Tier 1 (General) policy guidance will help understand specified requirements for bank statement(s) used as evidence to claim points for earnings. The same paragraph also explains what an online account is, in context.

Personal bank statements showing the payments made to the applicant: Bank statements provided must be on official bank stationery, and must show each of the payments that the applicant is claiming. If the applicant wishes to submit electronic bank statements from an online account he/ she should also provide a supporting letter from the bank on company headed paper confirming that the documents are authentic. Alternatively an electronic bank statement bearing the official stamp of the bank issuing the statements will be accepted. This stamp must appear on every page of the statement. For the purposes of this guidance an online bank account is one that operates solely over the internet and sends their bank statements to their customers electronically (for example over the internet or via email).

3. Reading para 140(i) of the Tier 1 (General) policy guidance will help understand the specified requirements when electronic / online payslips are printed on a plain paper.

Payslips: These should be either formal payslips or on company headed paper. Where formal payslips are produced on plain paper they must be stamped and signed by the employer. Payslips which are not on headed paper or the applicant receives all pay slips online, he/she must authenticate the evidence by asking the employer to sign and stamp a printout. If the applicant provides payslips, they must cover the whole period claimed (for example, if payslips are produced monthly, the applicant must provide the payslip for each month of the period claimed).

Maintenance funds has not been included in the reason(s) of refusal because documentary evidence submitted for the purpose seems to confirm to the specified requirement outlined in para 215(i) of the Tier 1 (General) policy guidance which clearly states:

Ad hoc bank statements printed on the bank’s letterhead/stationery are admissible as evidence.

Double standards? Or error in understanding the specified requirements? Your choice!
