Tier 2 Sponsorship Licence Renewal processing times

Hi,

Is anyone aware of the current sponsor licence renewal processing times and how long it roughly takes from start to finish? My employer's licence runs out in mid-December; they had applies for the renewal in mid-September but have only just received an email from UKVI this week acknowledging receipt of the application and temporarily extending the licence while they carry out a review in advance of making a decision. Does that sound in line with other renewal applications?
