This is called application variation. When i will get new cas letter and will apply fresh tier 4 application. Home office will ask me that there are 2 applications of me under process so which one i want to consider. I will say i want to consider my tier 4 application and withdraw my flro. Then they will adjust the difference. I will seek advice from 2 more lawyers today. Because i have friday 7th feb to leave the country or submit flro application to make my stay legal and resolve the issue with my university

Hi Everyone.
regarding my case, I left the country on 12th February 2014. but before leaving, I wrote a very long letter explaining what the university did with me due to which my visa was curtailed. I sent it via email to the Home Office and at the same time sent it by post via recorded delivery to their Croydon Office. the purpose was that home office should be aware of what happened actually. because till date, i didnt contact the home office directly. I was only contacting and paying visits to my university to resolve this issue.

now on 20th March 2014, I received an email from the Home Office Curtailment department. and it is as follows.

"Please note that this letter supersedes the notice to curtail leave letter dated 12th November 2013.
On 8th July 2013 a decision was taken to curtail your leave to remain so that it expired on 11th January 2014. However, in view of the fact that your Tier 4 sponsor has since become part of a merger, the Home Office has reviewed your Immigration Status and decided to reinstate your leave to remain. Your leave to remain will therefore expire on 30th October 2015."

now i was thankful to them and at the same time i asked them that whether i can travel to UK with this letter in my hand or i need something else as well.

but they have not responded yet. i sent this letter to university as well but they said that they have not been a merger and they need my consent to contact the home office on my behalf. the uni says that HO may have been mistaken about this letter which they sent to me. but this letter shows my full name, my nationality, my case id, and my real date of birth. i think these things are enough to confirm that the letter was intended for me.

now experts please guide me on what to do now because the uni says that I am not enrolled with them at the moment. what do you guys suggest now.

Merger means in this case when two tier 4 sponsors merging together and becoming one upon the approval from the HO. If your University informed you that they are not in the middle of any merging then definitely you have received a wrong letter.

Lets assume that HO have reinstated your visa status based upon your letter and your University's letter, but still you need the letter from the HO with the proper reasoning.

Yes the university says that they are not merged. So I have to contact the home office directly on phone. I am trying but the line is busy again and again. And if the HOhas made such a big mistake. What should I do now?

You should let the University to contact HO as well. Most of the University's have the premium account with HO and they can directly contact their account manager regarding this kind of mistakes.

Alternatively you keep calling them and get through eventually.
