Tier 2 visa for new company

Hi,

I have recently changed the company and got the COS from the new company to apply for Tier 2 visa.

However, when I checked the Home Office website, I was informed that I couldn't apply for new Tier 2 visa from within the UK, I have to go back home to apply for it. I was on Tier 2 General before with sponsored by my previous company and could apply for it from within the UK.

Have they recently changed the policies that require us to apply for new Tier 2 from outside UK? My husband and children are my dependents and their visas are still valid (until 2021) do they also have to apply for new visas with me. I haven't received the letter from the Home Office regarding my previous visas yet.

Can somebody please help as this is very urgent.

Also, the start date stated in my CoS is 21/10, but my company suggested me use the date 18/11 for my visa application. So what date should I put in the application please?

No change. You can apply within the UK.

If you leave the UK, you will be subject to the 12 month cooling off period.
