Tier 2 visa

Post by Sharukh » Sat Jul 29, 2023 3:45 pm

I would appreciate some urgent advice on my condition.
I am a trainee doctor on tier 2 visa and I am 21 weeks pregnant. I have been asked by my department to do a phased return ( which means working mornings only and gradually increasing my working hours) following a period of sickness due to pregnancy related illness. I have also been asked not to do on call and night shift due to pregnancy.
I have had a maternity risk assessment by the department and they have made these changes to my working hours.
I have been assigned to work 40 hours a week but now I will be working reduced number of hours, may be 15 to 20 or less due to phased return with no on call and night shift.
So my salary will be reduced and will not meet the minimum salary threshold for tier 2 visa.
I need to inform my sponsor any change in my working condition. So due reduced salary and working hours and not meeting the tier 2 requirement, will I lose my visa ?

Don’t stress about this, you will not lose your visa. This is not an unusual situation and the guidance allows for these circumstances. Your sponsor needs to update the Home Office about your reduced hours and state the reason it is that simple.
