Tier 5 (YMS) to Tier 2 (General)

Hi,

I am currently on a Tier 5 (YMS) which is due to expire at the end of October.

I am currently employed full time by my employer who wishes to keep me here. They will shortly start the process to lodge an application to sponsor me under the Tier 2 visa.

Besides all the requirements my company must follow; praying and hoping that it all goes well and we are given the nod - What am I required to do? Is it necessary for me to travel back to Australia to apply for the role/visa? Or, will it be possible to apply for the visa/role during a short trip, say somewhere in Europe?
