Tier1 Dependent Visa

Post by Amazing_leo » Sun May 02, 2010 7:55 pm

Hi !

I'm planning to apply for a Tier 1 visa (currently I'm on a Tier2). My wife is currently is currently in the UK on a Tier2 dependent visa.

I'm planning to apply for Tier1 visa only for me initially (as I have certain issues with Maintenance fund). If my visa gets approved and stamped:

1. Will my Tier 2 visa be cancelled with immediate effect ?

2. If yes (to point #1), obviously my wife's Tier2 dependent visa will be void. How soon will I have to apply for a Tier 1 dependent visa for her ? I wouldn't want her to be staying here illegally even for a single day.. she cannot travel back to India as we are expecting our first child in August...

Please advice as to what would be the best aproach in this situation....

Thanks in advance....

1. Yes.
2. IMHO, as soon as you receive your passport back with Tier 1 leave to remain.
