Tier1 General Dependent Visa

Post by skhedek1 » Mon Sep 05, 2011 5:28 pm

Hi Team,

This is Sunil K, Currently in UK on Tier1 (General category).

Before switching to Tier1 I was having Tier 2 (ICT) and I have processed my family dependent and they have got the 2 year dependent(Tier2 ICT dependent) which is valid till Jul-2012.
My family has joined me here for a month in Oct-2010 and went back, In Feb 2011 my Visa category has changed from Tier2 ICT to Tier1 General.

My query is, I am inviting my family to join me here in UK, Do I need to process there dependent Visa again or they can travel on Tier2 ICT dependent which is already with them.

Thanks & Regards,

Sunil.

I'm going to say yes but I'm really just making an educated assumption. Their visas are currently endorsed with TIER 2 PARTNER, TIER 2 CHILD, and as you are no longer a Tier 2 migrant I suggest that their visas need to be changed accordingly. I think it would be different if you had switched from Tier 2 ICT to Tier 2 General or Sport, as all of those carry the same endorsement for Tier 2 dependants and, apart from the dates being out of sync, I can't see how that would matter. However, a category that carries a different vingette endorsement is a different matter.

Perhaps I'm wrong, and they don't need to do this, or perhaps they could do this from inside the UK after arriving in the UK on their current leave. Wait for more comment on these matters.
