Tier2 - date of application

Hello,
I am currently in Tier2 visa and my visa is expiring on 14th November 2013. my current salary is £21,000. My company recently realized that the extension is only possible under experienced worker category (salary has to be > £26,000) and now advertising a job with higher salary for me.

Because the position has to be advertised up to one month , I may not be able to get my CoS number before 14th November and would like to now it is ok to overstay in UK up to 28 days and apply for Tier 2 visa please.

Please help me.
