tier2 general extension salary

Presently am on tier2 general visa,soc 2462 with £24000 p/a.I will soon extend my visa for another 3 years and the experienced salary is £27000.My question is,Is it okay for my employer to start the new salary from the Starting date stated on my COS letter?
Hope someone will help me out.
