tier2 reentry shortage of occupation

Post by eishatalha » Mon Nov 10, 2014 11:10 am

can anyone help?
we have to apply for leave to remain tier 2 general visa. my husband is doctor in ' training of acute medicine'. im not sure which form to fill in? is this the right one?
https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... orm-tier-2

there is a change in rule in 2014 which states
''a reduced fee for Tier 2 applications related to shortage occupations, so if your job has been classified as a shortage specialty (known as a job on the shortage occupation list), your fee will go down – see below. More details about the shortage occupation list ''

and shortage of occupation list is:
''general medicine specialities delivering acute care services (intensive care medicine, general internal medicine (acute), emergency medicine (including specialist doctors working in accident and emergency)''

so i guess as my husband is in acute medicine we have to fill up the above form and submit the reduced fee of £428 for upto 3 years. this fee is mentioned here

It depends on the cos issued to you weather u pay less fee or not. If your husband employer (NHS hospital) has issued a cos for a shortage occupation employee, only then u are allowed to pay reduced fee for main applicant and dependent.
Also note that not all jobs in training are within shortage occupation. Like only ST3+ in peads is in shortage occupation.

I will suggest pay the required fee as shown on your cos details rather being smart, as wrong fee might lead to refusal/loss of application fee. Only pay shortage occupation fee if you are 100% certain the COS has been raised as such.
