Tier4 dependent visa

Hi all,
Need some help please.
My friend is on tier4 general student visa and his visa left for only 4 to 3 months validity still. Can his wife switch to tier4 dependent on him? As main applicant visa left with only 4 months validity, will there be any problem with dependent visa or changes of getting rejected?

Please need your valuable advice.

It depends first on whether the Tier 4 migrant is allowed dependants. See https://www.ukcisa.org.uk/Information-- ... Dependants

Second, it depends on the prospective dependant's current type of visa. See paragraph 319C(h) of part 6 of the immigration rules:

(h) An applicant who is applying [in the UK as a PBS dependant] must not have last been granted:
(i) entry clearance or leave as a:
(a) visitor...; or
(b) short-term student or short term student (child); or
(c) parent of a Tier 4 (child) student
...
(ii) temporary admission;

(iii) temporary release; or

(iv) after the date on which paragraph 1 of Schedule 10 to the Immigration Act 2016 is commenced, a grant of immigration bail in circumstances in which temporary admission or temporary release would previously have been granted.
