Tier5 to Unmarried Partner - 6mnth permission requirement

Post by Nelly0612 » Tue Feb 01, 2011 10:25 pm

Hi

I am currently on a Tier 5 YMS visa which is due to expire in August 2011. My unmarried partner and I will have lived together for two years in June and plan to apply for an unmarried partner visa. Came across the below:

If you entered the UK in a different immigration category (for example, as a student), you may be allowed to switch into the category of husband, wife or civil partner if we have given you a total of more than six months' permission to live here since your most recent admission to the UK.

Does this mean that I shouldn't travel outside of the country from now until we submit the application?

Any help/advice/experiences would be appreciated!
