Time to leave after being refused an extension

If they refuse to extend you under TIER 1, how much time do they require you to leave the country, assuming that by the time they notify you, your visa will have already passed

I have seen some people on this forum mention 28 days . Strictly speaking you should leave at the end of the visa time limit , but from reading coments posted on this forum i beleive you get a grace period of 28 days .

Good luck with your Tier 1 extension , i hope it is granted !

I agree with above (28 days), but best to check with UKBA directly.

can you submit an application to extend within the 28 days, or would they refuse to even see it

If your leave has expired, you are an illegal migrant in the country. Overstayers are not allowed to submit leave to remain applications. Do not count on the 28 days allowance to voluntarily leave UK as your right to stay in UK.

It is only if you appeal the refusal (if you've been given the right, that is) that your leave is deemed to be continuing while the appeal is under consideration.

And please don't post the same question at multiple places.
