Time spent outside the UK before applying for ILR

Hi,

I would like to know how long (number of day) can I stay outside UK in the whole 5 year period.
Currently I am holding a Tier 1 HSMP.And I have flyed back home 3 times.
First time for 3 weeks, second time for 1.5 months and the last time for 1 week.
I still have 3yrs remaining, but my company is planning to send me various offsite places which is in situated in different countries. But each trips will only last for couple of days.

My friend is saying, I should not accept it as he says I will not be eligible to go for my ILR if i stay out side the UK for more than 180days in the whole five year time.

I Would like to know if that is true, and i am so confused what to do....

Please Help!!!!!
