ILR approved 16/04/2012 but BRP not yet delivered

Post by bluebird2011 » Mon Apr 30, 2012 9:23 am

All

I applied on ILR at Croydon office on 11th April. Decision not given on same day due to IT issues. However, received my ILR approval letter dated 16 April 2012 stating that I'll receive my BRP in next 7 working days. Today is 30 April 2012 and I haven't received anything.
I sent an email to BRPDelivery@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk. Their reply is as follows:

"We are not able to deal with this type of enquiry as it is not a delivery issue.

Your case is still with your case worker

You should re-direct your enquiry to the Immigration Enquiry Bureau on 0870 606 7766

Thank you

BRP Management Unit"

Did anyone else face the similar suituation?

Regards

My wife is in a similar situation. She got approval on 16th April and received letter on 18th April. We are still waiting for BRP card.

This shouldn’t take that long. I was also the victim of IT ISSUES at Solihull on 24th April. I got approval letter on 28th April and got my BRP yesterday 30th April 2012.

to further twist the already twisted situation,

i went to solihul 24 april like linkers, and was told all ok and that the confirmation letter will be sent by post. i still have not rcvd any letter from home office. so i decided to send an email to BRP and below is the response that i got from them today - NOW I DO NOT KNOW WHETHER THEY HAVE ACTUALLY LOOKED AT MY DETAILS IN SYSTEM OR JUST REPLIED WITH SOME TEMPLATE KIND OF RESPONSE:

Thank you for contacting the BRP Customer Contact Centre regarding delivery of your Biometric Residence Permit (BRP).

We have experienced a high demand for Biometric Residence Permits which has resulted in some delays in their production and delivery.

Your BRP will be delivered within the next 3-7 working days. Deliveries take place between 8am and 6pm. Please note that on delivery the courier will require proof of identity (such as your passport, driving licence or bank card) and a signature to confirm receipt of the package.

Your leave to remain is in no way affected by this delay. You are advised not to make any travel arrangements until you have received your BRP.

We apologise for the inconvenience this matter may have caused.

Thank you
BRP Management Unit

linkers - looking at the response from BRP above, do you think could it be the template reply or a genuine reply ? I still have not rcvd the confirmation letter from solihull-PEO though

That’s what I was wondering if it’s a template reply or a reply specific to your case. It's hard to say as it could be reply to your case too.

HSMP2007

I can confirm that the reply you received from BRP department is a standard template and is not specific to your case.

My ILR was approved on 16 April 2012. I sent an email to BRP department on 27 April and the reply I received was exactly similar to yours. The next day I received another email from BRP department confirming that the email sent earlier is not the correct information and told me that my BRP is not yet produced and they won't be able to help until it is produced.

thanks bluebird

does that mean, should I expect the correct reply tomorrow ?

BTW- when I send the email yesterday, i got automated initial template reply which is below, and then today I got the other reply (which is in above post). Does that mean they have send two template replies, so did you recieve the correct response in third reply from BRP ? I simply hav no words to describe the inadequate UKBA customer service standards.

bluebird - I have yesterday replied to BRP on their second template email reply requesting that they confirm whether that is a general reply or specific to my case. I have also requested if they can provide me with tracking details once BRP is handed over to courier company. I will post details when i get reply.

Congrats hsmp2007Tier1. I am glat that at least you have got approval for your ILR which is the main thing. BRPs are really taking a long time in some cases.

I am still waiting for the BRP of my eldest son (I have already received BRPs for myself, wife and my youngest son).

Linkers thank you very much. yes you are right there are delays in BRP processing. Also if you look at recent replies from BRP department it is evident that they are under pressure since there is only one BRP section to service all PEO and non-PEO applications. Hopefully you shall be receiving your son's BRP very soon.

thanks linkers please do let us know when you receive your son's brp as well.. as i think my brp must be stuck in the same queue as your son's since we both applied on same day i.e. 24 april and except your other BRPs, no other BRP from 24 april appointment is reported being delivered.
